London Stadium perimeter system
Re-purposed for football, and with new tenant West Ham United starting the first year of a 99 year tenancy, London Stadium required a UEFA-compliant LED system and also an LED ribbon for the first tier. We were invited to define how a UEFA compliant system could fit into the stadium, taking into account the spectator sight lines which meant that the system needed to be sited some 11m from the touchline at the half way line, and an arc around the pitch.
We developed an RFP only for companies that had already gained UEFA UCL compliance, and senior staff at London Stadium then visited various stadia to view both perimeter and ribbon board in situ to decide on the successful candidate. We then aided London Stadium in contract talks, and program managed the delivery and install of the system. We were then invited to drive the system, by operating and creating content for not only the perimeter system and ribbon board for non West Ham games, but also for the giant screens inside and outside the stadium.
We have since also agreed to create and manage all LED content for the perimeter and ribbon board systems for West Ham games.
